WEEK 7
Hello everyone!!!
This week was another blessed week!
So much happened, again. I will try and share the highlights. Everything goes so fast! Last week feels like a month ago!
We had a TON of member lessons again. We had District Council on Wednesday and my companion and I won the competition my District Leader was having. So, after District Council we went to Dairy Queen and he bought us Blizzards. I found out this week that McDonald's no longer sells M&M McFlurry's and I was horrified. When a member of my District shared this, I said "What? Are you kidding me?" Everyone was confused because most of them have never seen me irritated or anything so it was new for them. I was genuinely concerned so please tell me they sell those back home still!
We had another lesson with Mike and Hope, our leading investigators and oh my. These people have truly been prepared by God for this message. We taught them the Plan of Salvation and they ate it up! They said every time we teach them they feel the spirit so strong and they have such a strong desire to be baptized. It is incredible. The only thing holding them back is smoking, and we are racing against time to prepare them by teaching them all the lessons before April 3rd. We may have to push back the date but I am praying for them!
This week I have really learned that we need to not judge people based on their outward appearance. Mike and Hope for example, do not look like people who would be spiritual and ready to hear the message. But, Elder Corry and I are continually impressed by how connected they are with God. God loves everyone, even the people in the strange city of Saginaw. The people here are so different from the people I grew up around but it has been so cool to get to know them!!
Funny moment from the week:
This week, we went to Culver's here in Saginaw and it was very funny. I asked the woman for some fry sauce because in Idaho, their fry sauce at Culver's is incredible. The woman gave me the strangest and weirdest look I have possibly ever seen. I was so confused and so was she. "You don't have fry sauce?" I asked and she said "Do you mean ketchup?" In the end, I realized apparently fry sauce is a West Coast thing. I had no idea. Shoutout to my friends from Rexburg who know how much I love Culver's fry sauce. I was slightly disappointed they didn't have any. I will just be excited to eat some again when I get back.
Another funny moment: My new favorite thing to do during dinner is take a nap. I eat quickly in the first 20 minutes, and then take a nap for the next 40. Unfortunately for my companion I sleep like a rock and it is always an adventure to wake me up. I will add some pictures below of me sleeping.
Spiritual thought:
This week I really liked a scripture in Matthew. Matthew 17: 20:
"20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your aunbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have bfaith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this cmountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be dimpossible unto you."
When we have faith in Jesus Christ, all things are possible unto us.
There is so much more I wish I could share but I cannot, mostly because I can't think of anything because so much happened. To put it in a summary, this week was incredible. My testimony is continuing to foster and grow and I love it so much here.
I love you all! Have a good week!
