Week 3
What's up everybody!
This week was definitely one for the books. I had a ton of really cool spiritual experiences and some really amazing times! I was able to grow closer to my district as well. It will definitely be hard to leave all of them this upcoming week! I am really grateful for technology so that missionary work can still progress, and so I can stay in contact with all the friends I have made in the MTC.
I flew to Boise today on my P-Day. It was slightly weird to have to be in an airport without constant entertainment so we will see how my day goes on Wednesday when I fly all day. I am so grateful for the time I was able to spend in Las Vegas with my grandparents, and I am really excited for the time I have in Boise! I am so excited to fly on Wednesday to Lansing Michigan!! I cannot wait to get out there and serve the people there. The MTC has been nothing but amazing, but I really want to start applying all the things I have learned. I echo what all my amazing district members have said: the MTC flew by! It feels like yesterday that I was dragging myself out of bed at 5:30 am for the first time and now I am leaving for the field in just a few days! But overall I am not nervous at all. I am just excited.
I had a meeting this week with the new missionaries headed to Lansing, my Mission President, and his very kind wife. It was really great! When we spoke to him, he was really optimistic about all the things that were happening there. Even though we will be on a pretty strict lockdown, I am still so excited. I love the attitude my President had. Instead of telling us all the things we can't do because of Covid, he told us all the things that we could do. I am a firm believer that my mission is about my attitude. So, I am going to strive to do my best everyday, and have the best attitude I can! Talking to him made me want to leave right now!!
This week, I had the opportunity to attend a memorial service for a friend of mine from Highschool who passed away suddenly on Saturday last week in a tragic accident. It was really hard to be there, but I actually was able get some closure and see a lot of my old teachers and some friends. Blake had a personality like nobody else and he was very kind to me during my Senior year. I can't express how much it meant to me what he did. One of the hardest parts of being there was when I told Blake's mom how much he meant to me. I am glad I was able to meet him while he was here on the Earth. We will all miss you Blake!
I am so grateful I was able to do the MTC online and spend a lot of time with my family. I can't wait to get started! Next time you hear from me, I will be in the great state of Michigan! See y'all then!
