WEEK 16
Good morning everyone. What an exciting week here in my new area! To start, I have a new companion, Elder Kofford, and am in a new area called Bay City, the "promised land". WE saw some amazing miracles this week. It has been hard to leave Saginaw. I finally was getting to remember all the ward members names and building relationships with the people we were teaching. I handed the keys and the SIM card over to the new Elders coming in. I think about the people we were teaching a lot.....hopefully they are getting taken care of.
IT was hard to say goodbye to my friend Elder Tongi and all the fun elder in my District. We took lots of pictures. Our Zone merged with another Zone, so I am till in the same zone as before, so that is cool.
I wasted no time getting to work in Bay City. The last few days before transfers were very slow and it was killing me. But the first day i met my new comp he said, "hope it is okay, I scheduled 3 lessons tonight" (usually on transfer days, you kinda hang out all day) and I was like, uh heck yeah! He has no idea how excited I was in that moment.
My new ward is great! My new comp is a hardworking and dedicated missionary. That is all I can every want in a comp! We went right to work this week. My first full day in Bay City, we put two people on Baptismal date so that was a really huge miracle!
I met so many cool people this week. I am starting to remember all the names of the people we teach and the members of the ward, so that is good.
I feel like I could share so many amazing stories, but I don't want to take up that much of your time. I think I can confidently say, to sum it all up, this will be a really great transfer. The Lord has so many great things in store for Elder Kofford and I here in Bay City!
Funny moment:
Something funny this week was making our video to celebrate putting people on date for Baptism. I will drop the video in the email. Also, there is a special lady in the ward named Sister Elliott. Spelled the same and everything. I have never had that happen! Crazy.
Spiritual Thought:
This week I was asked to speak in Sacrament meeting and as I went to prepare my talk, I was asking Heavenly Father what to prepare and I kept feeling like I needed to go off the Spirit. Now sometimes when people say that, they just mean they don't want to prepare and would rather wing it. But I really felt like I was supposed to and as hard as I tried, none of my thoughts would come together at all. So, I did. When I got off the stand, I went back to my chair and felt like I had given the worst talk of my entire life. When I expressed that to the missionaries in our ward, they were genuinely shocked. They were like "if you didn't tell us you were going without a plan, we would have never had any idea at all! It flowed together so well!" So that was good to hear. lol. I was genuinely like "whelp, i screwed that up!' But the thought from this is, be bold. When you feel prompted to do something, listen and do it. If it "enticeth to do good", it is from the Spirit so act on it! If you act on promptings boldly, you will witness miracles.
