WEEK 17
Good morning everyone! In my new area, we can't use the computers at the Church so you just have to bare with me on my phone haha
This week was really great! We saw SO many miracles. So I am just going to share some cool stories. Who doesn't love cool stories?
We went to drop off a Book of Mormon to this dude we contacted on Facebook. When we pulled up, we couldn't figure out which apartment he lived in because the houses are weird where we were at. (There are 4 apartments to a house) This dude was on his porch and he called us over and said "can you guys cast demons out of my house?" It was interesting. We talked to him and gave him a Book of Mormon and then in the middle of us talking ANOTHER guy pulls up on his bike and starts talking to us. He wants to meet with us except he said "he wants to teach us, not us teach him" so we will see how that goes. But the Lord's timing is crazy both these people were ready and we were there at the perfect time.
We had a video call with this guy named Brad this week. As we were talking, he was cursing up a storm and then apologizing and he was just telling us about his life. But, it was such a beautiful moment as we got to know him better. During our lesson, we told him what we do as missionaries and he REALLY has a desire to learn more. At the end, we closed with a prayer and my companion prayed for him. The spirit was so strong and when we closed, he began to cry. Heck, I was about to cry it was so cool. Right then and there, he knew what we have is something special. I am calling it now that he is going to get baptized. Don't be surprised if I talk about him in a few weeks...
I don't want to write you an entire essay but this week was very miracle filled. I miss Saginaw in many ways but, Bay City is very blessed. The lord has something big in store for this ward and this city and I am going to try my best to help the Lord work His miracles for these people I have grown to love so much.
I hope to hear from you all soon! Have a good week!
Funny moment:
We met with this guy over vide call and again, he didn't have his shirt on (eye roll). These people need Sister Heap's "Zoom Etiquette " she makes us have on all our zoom meetings. But anyways that wasn't the bad part. We invited him to church over zoom (because he got exposed to Covid and was talking about coming in-person and I was like ehhhh not a good idea). But at church this week they were displaying the zoom room on the wall with a projector and teaching the whole ward together. Sure enough, his camera is on and he has no shirt on for the whole ward to see
my companion and I were like "oh no".

my companion and I were like "oh no". Another funny thing is there has been like this misconception with people on Facebook I message that I am trying to hit on them

. I have had several like middle aged women flirt with me and stuff over messenger and I am like "Can I just teach you about the gospel." One day we went to the Police Station for my companion to get fingerprints for his travel to Brazil. And the lady WINKED at me and was low key acting all weird. I was like ??? What is happening. They didn't teach me this in the MTC

Something really cool this week has been the spirit. Something I have learned is that above all else, we NEED the spirit. I cannot do this work without the spirit of the Lord. I have been really focusing on having the spirit with me this week in our lessons. Yesterday, we had a beautiful member lesson. There was all this commotion as tons of people started coming to this guys house (very popular family) and the spirit we had was gone. It was about time to leave so I said to the member "can I bare my testimony and we can leave". The whole house went quiet and I bore a powerful witness of the Savior, Jesus Christ. This ward has over 300 inactive people and I asked them to join me in praying for miracles to occur. I promised that with steadfast faith in Jesus Christ, we can accomplish anything. It was pretty amazing.
I love you all!
